Filled with weddings, parties, Sangeet parties, Mehendi ceremonies, etc. the last few months of the year are jam-packed with activities for everyone from the bride to the guests. Bridal wear has evolved over the years and the choices in wedding sarees, party sarees, party salwar suits and lehengas is mind boggling. Let’s look at some of the new styles in vogue right now.

The wedding is one of the most important days in any couple’s lives and you obviously want to look your best…one of the most important purchases will definitely be the wedding saree! Bridal wear has come a long way and with everyone from small boutiques, online stores and top-notch designers catering to brides, there’s a ton of variety. If you prefer something non-traditional there are many ways to modernize your wedding saree. Instead of a regular linen sarees you could go in for something metallic or a saree in an offbeat fabric like embellished jute or net.

Metallic colors like rose gold and silver are extremely trendy and a great way to stand out in a sea of normal colored sarees. You can also go in for different prints and designs that are in market nowadays rather than just embroidery or sequin work. The look of a traditional wedding saree can also be modernized with a contemporary blouse design like spaghetti straps, off-shoulder or a backless style. The big trend nowadays is tons of colour; the bolder and brighter, the better! Another big bridal wear trend right now is retro and vintage designs. Outfits with an old-world charm and a modern twist are perfect for the contemporary bride.

Lightweight lehengas with a corset top or a tunic are very trendy. Also, party-wear sarees in different materials and abstract prints are very much in style. You can also wear a chic Indo-western outfit like an embellished tunic with slim pants.
